The "Locust Letter" is a foundational document in the history of the YORWW (Yah Our Righteousness World Wide) Congregation, marking its origin as a breakaway movement from Jehovah's Witnesses.

Significance of the Letter

The Origin Point: Written on April 12, 1991, by Donald C. Burney, the letter serves as the formal "break-up" notice from sixteen former Jehovah's Witnesses who founded the TWMC (Two Witnesses Must Come) movement, which later evolved into YORWW.

The Prophetic Claim: The group identifies itself as the fulfillment of the "locusts" described in Revelation 9:1–11. In their interpretation, these locusts are not literal insects but a divinely commissioned group sent to "torment" those—specifically the leadership of the Watchtower Society—who claim to have the "seal of God" but, according to the letter's claims, do not.

The Declaration of Judgment: The letter explicitly notifies the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses that they have been "replaced" by Jehovah God as the official spokesmen for the "Anointed Remnant." It accuses the leadership of spiritual corruption, citing their use of contributed funds for facilities like the Patterson complex as evidence of greed and elitism, which the letter compares to "a Lake Tahoe" for leaders.

Core Message to the Watchtower Leadership

Replacement Doctrine: It argues that just as 1st-century Christians replaced the Jewish religious establishment, the YORWW movement has replaced the Watchtower leadership due to "great wickedness."

Invoked Prophecies: The text relies heavily on passages like Isaiah 22:15–21 (regarding the replacement of stewards), Isaiah 28:15–19 (declaring the Watchtower's "covenant with death" will be dissolved), and Amos 4:6–8 (predicting a lack of spiritual "bread and water" from the organization's writing staff).

Warning of Madness: It warns the leadership that their "madness will become plain to all in the near future," framing their eventual collapse as a "strange" and "unusual" work of God.
