At least seven people were killed in twin deadly rocket attacks by Hezbollah in northern Israel on Thursday. The first attack took place near Metula and killed five people - including four foreign workers. The second attack took place near Haifa in Kiryat Ata, killing two people. Israeli media said Hezbollah is behind the attacks and the rockets were fired from Lebanon.

More than 3,000 Israelis have signed an open letter urging "global pressure on Israel to force an immediate ceasefire." The signatories say they are motivated by patriotic duty to stop the country's war crimes in Gaza and beyond, but say the lack of sanctions from other countries has allowed Israel to continue to pursue war, abandon the hostages still held in Gaza, ignore domestic opposition and persecute Palestinian citizens of Israel without real cost. "Unfortunately, the majority of Israelis support the continuation of the war and massacres, and a change from within is not currently feasible. The state of Israel is on a suicidal path and sows destruction and devastation that increase day by day," reads the letter. For more, we speak with Neve Gordon, professor of international law and human rights at Queen Mary University of London, one of the signatories of the open letter, who says international powers including allies like the United States need to "put their leg down and say enough is enough." We also speak with him about Israel's well-documented history of using Palestinians as human shields, including in its current war on Gaza.

The Lebanon-based Hezbollah militant group launched a deadly rocket attack on Israel on October 31. Seven people were killed and several wounded in Hezbollah's rocket barrage in north Israel. Two people were killed in a rocket attack near Kiryat Ata, outside of Haifa. Five more people, including an Israeli citizen, were killed in Metula earlier in the day. Hezbollah's relentless rocket attacks came as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with US special envoy Amos Hochstein and Middle East czar Brett McGurk aiming to end the ongoing conflict in Lebanon.

A Russian aircraft landed in Israel last month and later headed back to Moscow for reasons that are currently not clear, Ynet News reported. Israeli officials denied reports a Russian delegation arrived in the country to negotiate the release of two Israeli-Russian captives held by Hamas.
