Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have begun returning to what is left of their homes in northern Gaza.
Reports suggest around 74% of buildings in Gaza City have been damaged or destroyed.
The mass movement of people came as Israel said eight hostages that were supposed to be released by Hamas under the ceasefire agreement were actually dead.

After resigning from the Israeli government in protest against the Israel-Hamas ceasefire, now ex-minister Itamar Ben Gvir has lashed out over the return of Palestinians to North Gaza, calling it a surrender. Ben Gvir has been a strong critic of the truce, and withdrew his party's support after the deal was finalised. Apart from him, two more ministers from his party tendered their resignation.
