You pose a good question and I believe i have an answer for you.
I have the old red book, "Life Everlasting in the freedom of the sons of God". There is a chart called "Chart of significant dates from man's creation to 7000 A.M." Pages 31-35.
But my focus for your question is what was said at the end of the chart on pg. 35. It gives a definite date of 1975 CE or 6000 AM which is the 'End of the 6th 1,000 year day of mans existence.' Here, if you add 1000 years for the millennium, this brings us to the date of 2975 CE or 7000 AD which is the 'End of the 7th 1,000 year day of man's existence.
If you look closely at the chart on page 35, you will see the Watchtower Society added 1,000 years to the date of 1975. This brought them to the date of 2975. Now ask yourself why are they adding 1,000 years to this date? The answer is obvious. They clearly thought the Millennium of Christ's reign over the earth was going to start in the year of 1975.
Is there any other way the reader of this information could take that?
If the 1,000 year millennium year begins in 1975, then dose not that mean that the "great war of Armageddon" must come before that date? -- Rev. 16:16
This was sensational information for Jehovah's Witnesses to receive in a book. The only problem with that, is that it directly contradicted Jesus's words at Mark 13:32, which says "No one would know the day and the hour". (F. Franz even mentioned the date of September 5th 1975 in his talk.)
Needless to say, tens of thousands of Jehovah's Witnesses around the world were stumbled away from the JW organization when absolutely nothing happened in 1975. They could see the leadership of Jehovah's Witnesses, were "False Prophets." -- See Deut 18:22.

This video was published by Watchtower Examination (Video # 1,279) on July 10th, 2024, and makes a striking observation about the "impossible" situation facing all Jehovah's Witnesses today, over the repeated false date-setting of this organization. It condemns the entire JW Organization, RESOUNDINGLY! (See Deut. 18:22; John 8:44; Rev. 21:8.)
The presenter in this video, speaks of three (3) things that are impossible for all Jehovah's Witnesses. After listening to his presentation, you may agree with his assessment of things.
These three (3) things to note are:
1) Face Reality [when examining the known available evidence of repeated false date-setting over the years] 2) Be Honest [with themselves] 3) Become and/or Remain a faithful Jehovah's Witness [in the face of this available evidence]
. . . because of all of the lies, repeatedly told by the Watchtower Society & its Governing Body, by way of their relentless FALSE DATE-SETTING for Armageddon and the Millennium reign of peace for earth.
Do Jehovah's Witnesses believe in Holy Scripture, such as:
Revelation 21:8 (NIV) which says:
"But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and ALL LIARS—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
Based upon what the Watchtower Society has taught about the date of 1975, since the year of 1966 . . . this is something to really, really think about, wouldn't you say?
